The song 'Ek pyar ka Nagma hai' is running on my comp, the other window open on my desktop is the transcript of my NITIE interview[http://kulkarninet.tripod.com/tscript.htm]. The song currently plays the following lines (I am typing as the words play)-
'Kuchh paakar khona hai,
kuchh khokar paana hai,
Jeevan ka matlab to aana aur jaana hai.
Do pal ke jeevan mein,
ek umra churaani hai,
Jindagi aur kuchh bhi nahi
teri meri kahaani hai....'
One of the questions asked to me in my NITIE interview about my entrepreneurial aspirations was - "As an entrepreneur what will be your starting budget – 1 crore, 10 crore?" I was simply overwhelmed by the figures and could only blurt out that I would start small. But today I understand that for succesful venture I would have to atleast be prepared for these figures and I really might start with such figures. NITIE has helped me to understand, comprehend and respect financial figures and other details of business.
I have done a lot more and learn't even more in the past two years - MastishK, Ethics committee and BIT Alumni are the showcase experiences for me but there's a lot more that I did. I understood the human nature better - there were an array of people whom I interacted with during my days in NITIE. Veterans like Payal, Khetan, Pandeyji, Kartik ... ; free souls like Shubham, Medda, Milind, Ashita, Gupta (Abhishek) ... ; sincere and simple individuals like Anish, Meril, Tarun, Panda(aka Arijit), Sabya, PDM, Arul (aka Anna); unique characters like HK, Yudi, Dhawala, Thakur, GK, NP etc. An interaction with all these people helped me understand myself better . . and that I guess is the most valuable knowledge from this place.
With the campus now completely empty and the final leftover people (Thakur, Anna, Meril) leaving tommorow the nostalgia mood is on its all time high for me after the school farewell day. . I will miss the nights at NITIE - the whole campus awake till 3 AM and its time for the night mess. I will always remember the day MastishK conluded and I was awake till 7 AM. I will remember this 2 Mbps line which inspired me to take up so many online adventures one of which happens to be bloging. I will remember the numerous walks around the pond and around 'Monte Carlo' (The circular road up and down the Hill on which our classrooms are situated) and the scenic beauty of the campus. i will never forget the violent class meetings, the hot parties, Prerana and other events, exams and assignments, and the cool naps in class too ... I will remember everything... But I don't feel sad - NITIE has been enjoyable and as I leave NITIE there is optimism and joy in the air . . . .
The playlist has moved to 'Aaj phir jeene ki tammna hai' . . I too am preparing myself to take up a new life now - the life of a professional. I am at the most crucial point in my life - the point where I always wanted to be from my childhood - the drill begins here . . .
Watch out life! I am coming !!!
'Koi na roko dil ki udaan ko ..
dil vo chala ...
Main hoon gubar ya tooofan hoon
Koi bataye main kahan hoon ...
Dar hai safar mein kahin kho na jaun
Rasta naya .....
Tay ka liya
Aaj phir jeene ki tammana hai...
Aaj ophir marne ka iraada hai'
